Doug Sommer
Teaching Pastor / Elder
Pastor Doug has served as Pastor-Teacher at Calvary Bible Church since its inception on May 12, 2008 (then known as Calvary Monroe). Before arriving in Monroe, WA, he served for several years as the worship leader at Calvary Mt. Si (formerly Calvary Chapel North Bend). Retiring in 2015 from nearly 25 years in Corporate America, Doug returned to his schooling, graduating with a B.A. in Religion and M.Div., both from Faith International Seminary. He is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry from The Master's Seminary, emphasizing expository preaching.
Doug's role at Calvary includes teaching during the Sunday services, overseeing the church staff, and working with the rest of the elders to provide leadership to the entire church.
Doug and his wife, Dacyl, have three children, Faith, Keilah, and Christian.
