Doug Sommer
Teaching Pastor / Elder
Pastor Doug has faithfully served as Pastor-Teacher of Calvary Bible Church since its founding on May 12, 2008 (originally established as Calvary Monroe). Prior to his pastoral ministry in Monroe, Washington, he led worship for several years at Calvary Mt. Si (formerly Calvary Chapel North Bend). After concluding a 25-year career in the corporate sector, he transitioned into full-time ministry and theological scholarship. He earned both a B.A. in Religion and a Master of Divinity from Faith International Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree at The Master’s Seminary, with a concentration in expository preaching.
Doug’s responsibilities at Calvary encompass preaching during Sunday services, overseeing church staff, and working with fellow elders to offer leadership and spiritual oversight for the entire congregation.
Doug and his wife, Dacyl, have three children, Faith, Keilah, and Christian.
