History

In 2007, Pastor Doug began a Bible study in a home with just a small handful of believers. He and his family drove 80 miles round-trip once a week to teach and serve with a desire to plant an expository verse-by-verse Bible teaching church in the Sky Valley community of Monroe. On May 11th, 2008, Calvary Monroe officially launched, meeting in the Monroe Senior Center on Sunday evening. In September 2009, the church moved across the street to the Boys & Girls Club and had its first Sunday morning services. Since then, Calvary has been teaching the Bible, book-by-book, to those within Monroe and surrounding communities, emphasizing the full counsel of God’s word and living His Gospel in everyday life. Through it all, our core mission remains resolute: to bring glory to God by rightly dividing the Word of God and through the proclamation of His Gospel.
